Sementara Viar Cross X 250 ES dihargai Rp 42,73 Juta. Secara spesifikasi, Kawasaki KLX 250 Standard, memiliki mesin 249, sementara Viar Cross X 250 ES Standard memiliki mesin berkapasitas 249.6. Outside of the obvious difference in engine displacement and the fact that the KLX250S is street legal, does anyone know the differences between the two bikes? Do they share the same frame and suspension components, for example? What parts are interchangeable? Anyone have riding experience on either or on both I'm not even sure if the KLX250S is availble yet? Thanks! Jeff BIG DIFFERENCE! 250 has the magic button, Hot ticket is the buy the 250 put the 300 Barrel and piston on it they share the same head/valves etc throw an Ohlins on the back have someone do the front forks springs and Valving There you have an awesome bike JMO What he said....Seems a bit silly for Kawi to have made the street legal model "only" a 250 but its all OEM parts to bump it to the 300. I'm debating on doing the 331 bore/sleeve or bore/plate to mine as I picked up a trashed 300 cylinder that would have to be sleeved, or picking up a new 300 cylinder to have it bored/plated. The $250 price difference is a stumbling block as I can't find a definitive answer as to which process is more reliable. Thanks for the input! You guys do know that I'm talking about the 2009 KLX250S, right? Is it even available for sale, yet? There seem to be some frame difference between it and the previous KLX250 models? I'm not sure. The engine could be slightly different too? Jeff Since you asked if anyone had experience on a KLX300, I assume this is of some value I had one, had the forks massaged, put on a manual decomp lever, PUT ON A PUMPER CARB netted a very significant increase in power and rideability, and a tall saddle, and enjoyed it in the woods very much. A bit cammier than an XR, felt very slender and light, and was a joy. Still kick myself for selling it, but then, I did get an XR650R to replace it, so who am I to complain? That would be a fun ride. Too bad I still need to pay off my KLR . If you were happy replacing a KLX300 with an XR650R, you had the wrong bike in the first place. Cool ... sounds like a great idea. What is the approximate cost for parts and labor? Do you use the same carburetor, just with different jetting? Jeff should use the same carb but not quite sure on that, many throw the stocker out and put in a pumper, I have left mine as I finally got the jetting right, The vacuum carbs are not as much of a problem with altitude changes once you get them dialed. Don't know the cost of the parts, but I bet it would be cheaper than me trying to put all the parts together to the electric start on mine. I think Larry Rossler was doing the E-start kit for around $1800 years ago??? I have the Ohlins shock on my 300 what a difference that made . Racetech springs in front, Great lil bike, but still dated compared to a new Husky 250 with the Athena 300 kit, which will smoke the KLSX300 everywhere. After riding my sons Husky 300 I don't even want to ride my Lil kawi anymore Stock the Husky 250 puts out more than a stock 300 and I think more than a properly jetted KLX331 28 hp on several dynos. For the 300 or 331 you can use the oem carb. The 300 kit will set you back just over $500, or 331 is $760 ish including prices include all assorted gaskets, pins, clips, rings, piston, and new cylinder. KustomKraft check my spelling... does the 331 kit, there are others but they come highly recommended. Sorry didn't realize you were comparing the 09 to the 300, as far as that goes, there has been nothing said that the motor is different but only time will tell. What Husky 250 model are you referring to? Is it street legal? No biggie about the 09 KLX250S model ... I guess it may be too soon to be asking questions about it. Does anyone know when they'll actually be available? One dealer told me February, but that was a few weeks ago. Jeff The TE 250 is the enduro street legal model, I think thats the same as he is referring to above. Those have a close ratio six speed and are definitely more "sporty" than the KLX line. Is this the same 250 engine that is on the klr250? It looks like the same engine except for the electric start... So you are not real sure of that??? Yes it does but a KLX300 has much more torque down low it will lug down and pull my fat ass up tight steep single tracks that the Husky 250 can't, Stock Husky has way more power up top but no where near the bottom grunt of the stock KLX300, But that all goes away when you put the Athena 300 kit on the Husky Now you have the bottom end and the great top end. YES Not a direct replacement, and yes, they are different bikes. The KLX shines in the tight stuff and is extremely flickable. The XR is more flickable in the tight woods around here than any sane person should expect, but will punish you when the going gets very rough. Unless you get good with letting the throttle get you OUT of trouble instead of INTO it. Watch Neduro ride one sometime. The KLX does not have legs at 8,000 ft, where I ride. The XR never runs out of legs. I ride the XR where I rode the KLX, except I also ride it flat out on dirt roads and the desert. The XR can cover a much broader swath of motorcycling. But they are different rides, yes. However, they share a couple things besides being venerable bulletproof thumper designs they have their share of detractors who complain about old tech, and with some tweaks both become extremely flexible and capable machines that run forever. No, I did not have the wrong bike in the first place. I missed it to the point that I picked up a KDX220 more than a few similarities, but the XR sees a lot more riding. Just a thumper kinda guy I guess. KLX500R or 600R, anyone? I'd buy it. As long as it worked better than the KLX650 did, though I admit I was tempted... The 450 is worthy close. Remember, things make 20%-30% less power up here in the rare air. Is anyone on the board going to buy the new KLX250S the 2009 model listed as being available this coming February? Jeff SamM Jeep Overlander I'm considering the 2009 Kawasaki KLX250S as a replacement for my plated 2005 Yamaha TT-R250. The TT-R has an air-cooled engine which I like much more but if I make the big switch to green, I may as well go all the way. It's lightweight and comes streetlegal. Since the 300 engine parts are a direct swap for the stock 250 stuff, that makes it attractive to me as a nice little commuter/trailbike! Thereare no common parts shared between the KLR250 and KLX. The KLX engine isn't cutting edge technology by any means but is still a reliable semi modern unit with excellent parts support. The KLR engine is antiquated and long out of production and doesn't respond well to modification in both the power and reliability department. Go with
